‘The Silhouettes’ to go on screen at Cervino fest

The Cervino Cinemountain Festival in Italy is to show ‘The Silhouettes’.

The Cervino Cinemountain Festival in Italy has been scheduled to screen Iranian-Filipino documentary ‘The Silhouettes’.

Afsaneh Salari’s feature-length doc will go on screen at the 24th edition of the Italian event, the highest international mountain film festival in Europe, taking place at the foot of Cervino.

‘The Silhouettes’ tells the story of an Afghan family who live in Iran. They left Afghanistan 40 years ago to come and live in Iran.

The film shows how the son of the family wants to move back to Afghanistan to live and work there, but his family does not approve.

The flick has already participated in a number of global events and won awards, including ‘Docs in Progress’ award at the Karlovy Vary International film festival in the Czech Republic and Special Mention at the International film festival of Vision du Reel in Switzerland.

The Cervino Cinemountain Festival is dedicated to films about mountains. The nature of the event and its perspectives make it an important film event about the mountains’ nature along with the Trento Film Festival, also in Italy.

The 2021 edition of the festival is slated for July 31-August 07.
